Trauma & PTSD therapy for adults in CT

When something terrible happens to us it can change our brain and our ability to cope with our thoughts, feelings, actions, and body sensations. If you’re here, you may not feel like yourself. Maybe you’re having trouble functioning or feel alone. Trauma can leave us feeling anxious, jumpy, fearful, detached, or caught in a loop re-experiencing scary memories. Maybe you're going throughout the day feeling guilty, unworthy, or depressed. Maybe you're having trouble sleeping, feel numb or have lost interest in life.

Whether you’re suffering due to a traumatic event or ongoing trauma (such as a traumatic childhood, emotional or physical abuse, systemic trauma; natural disaster or crisis; grief, chronic stress, or Post Traumatic Stress Disorder / PTSD) – I am here to listen, support, and help you learn ways to cope and feel better.

I have specialized training and use evidence-based trauma treatment models: TF-CBT Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Complicated and Traumatic Grief Therapy, and Trauma-Informed Art Therapy. Treatment often includes understanding how what happened to us impacts the brain, developing relaxation techniques, connecting with and managing emotions, re-framing unhelpful thought patterns, processing our story, and enhancing future safety. We may also use talk therapy, art therapy, and/or nature therapy.

There’s a safe space here for you to heal and hope. No one plans for something terrible to happen, and no one can do the work for you. I am here to listen and help you navigate your path to feeling better.
