Grief Counseling in Connecticut

grief counseling for Teens + adults in CT

Grief can be exhausting and lonely. Even with a strong community of family and friends, grief is a unique and isolating pain. Getting outside support can help you feel understood, cope better and find new ways to continue the connection to your deceased loved one. Through therapy I’ll help you engage in self-care, honor your loved one, and navigate your altered life (like managing holidays, family interactions, parenting, and milestones). When you’re ready, I can help you share your story, find purpose, and learn to live again - in a new way. I’m a certified provider of Compassionate Bereavement Care in Branford, CT and also use my own lived experiences with grief and trauma to help inform my work with clients.

you are not alone

The death of a loved one can be overwhelming and the tasks daunting, whether you’re missing the love of your life or the relationship was complicated. You may feel traumatized, especially if the death was sudden, violent, or traumatic. Or flat out exhausted, guilty or even relieved – especially as a caregiver during a prolonged illness. The bereaved may feel especially alone or ashamed if the death is viewed as less socially accepted such as death by suicide or drug-involved overdose. I provide a safe space for all grieving.

While grief is a normal human experience, each person’s journey is different, even within the same family. One might be sad, overwhelmed, exhausted, or feeling a loss of identity, another may be distracting themselves with work, school or numbing their feelings, and another may be isolating, angry, anxious, or depressed. You might even be feeling all of these things. There’s no right way to feel or grieve.

Regardless if your loss is recent or years ago, grief doesn’t go away – it just changes over time. Whether you’re a bereaved widow, missing your life partner, or grieving the loss of your parent, child, pregnancy, sibling, grandparent, friend, or anticipating a loss – I am here to listen, support you on your grief journey, and help you navigate this part of life you didn’t ask for through talk therapy, art therapy, and/or nature therapy.

Your loved one died – Your love for them and life continues. I am here to listen and help.
